Charleston Spring Wedding at Boone Hall

I’ve had the honor of getting to know and work alongside the beautiful bride, Meridith, and her mom, Margaret, on many wedding days. As fellow wedding industry professionals, it’s always such a joy to collaborate with other talented creatives. Together, they thoughtfully designed and planned every detail of this wedding day, and it was absolutely beautiful! Meridith and Mario’s Charleston Spring Wedding at Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens was a dream, filled with meaningful and heartfelt moments. There was so much to love about this wedding!

Charleston Spring Wedding at Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens

The spring azaleas were in full bloom, adding pops of color throughout the grounds. Combined with the live oak trees dripping with Spanish moss, Boone Hall created the most gorgeous backdrop for Meridith and Mario’s newlywed pictures. Meridith was positively stunning in an off-the-shoulder Jenny Yoo gown, with her hair swept up in a timeless up-do. She also wore a long cathedral-length veil that belonged to her mom. I’m sure it meant so much to Margaret to have her daughter wear her own veil. Meridith also honored Mario’s late mother by wrapping her cross necklace around her bouquet, a beautiful and touching tribute.

The Wedding Ceremony

Before the ceremony, Mario and Meridith shared a first touch and read letters they had written to one another. Then, they headed to their wedding ceremony at the historic chapel at St. Andrew’s Church. What I loved most was seeing how overwhelmingly happy they both were to be married. You could see how much this moment meant to them through their smiles and happy tears.

After the ceremony, the wedding party rode a trolley to the reception at Boone Hall Plantation, where we captured wedding party portraits beneath the iconic oak trees. The bridesmaids’ attire was perfect for this spring wedding day. They each wore different colored, floral patterned dresses, also in various styles. The light spring color palette all worked together and created a seamless look that was beautiful.

Boone Hall Wedding Reception at Cotton Dock

The reception took place at Boone Hall’s Cotton Dock, which is one of Charleston’s most scenic waterfront wedding venues. The sweeping river views and golden sunset light made for an incredible setting for romantic newlywed portraits along the dock. Cocktail hour featured a custom ice sculpture with a raw bar, as well as a beautiful drink display shelf for guests to grab a drink as they mingled.

Guests were treated to live watercolor portraits as a unique keepsake, while the amazing live band kept the energy high and the dance floor full all night. Since Mario is a chef, it was especially fun when they pulled out chef hats while dancing. As the evening came to an end, the newlyweds left in a grand sparkler exit and departed in a vintage getaway car.
