One of our favorite family adventures this summer was spending a few days in Chicago. It was the kids’ first time to explore Chicago, and they loved it! The little town we live in only has a population of about 4,000, so they were amazed by the tall skyscrapers, elevated subway, bustling streets, deep dish pizza, and uber rides. Their favorite part was swimming in the pool on the hotel roof, and I must say the view was pretty incredible. Here are a few of our highlights :

Our first dinner in the city had to be deep dish pizza, and we had fun comparing Lou Malnati’s and Giordano’s.

 

Millennium Park and the iconic Cloud Gate

The kids had so much fun at the Maggie Daley Park, we went twice!

One of my favorite spots in Chicago is Wildberry Pancakes & Cafe, right across from Millennium Park. Their Signature Wildberry pancakes are the best!

It was a perfect day to visit Navy Pier and enjoy the rides!

One evening we watched the summer fireworks on Navy Pier.

One of Ethan’s favorite spots was the Legoland Discovery Center! He loves Star Wars and legos, so it was the perfect combination. The lego display of the Chicago downtown had been taken over by Star Wars spaceships and characters.

Phil was determined to find a Chicago style hot dog!
