It was an honor photographing Lindsay and Kyle’s gorgeous Boone Hall Plantation Wedding in Charleston South Carolina. The epic avenue of oak trees is a breathtaking sight with 250 year old trees draped in Spanish Moss and resurrection ferns, which creates a dreamy, perfect background for weddings! It was also featured in the iconic movie The Notebook.
Charleston, SC Boone Hall Plantation Wedding
Lindsay and Kyle’s wedding day was filled with so many wonderful moments! They included their sweet pup, Levi, and I was so excited to finally meet him after seeing so many cute pictures! I know it meant so much to them to have him there, and he was such a good boy! One of my favorite moments during the day was the First Look along the marsh. The anticipation of seeing each other for the first look on a wedding day never gets old, and it was such a sweet moment to witness!
Lindsay and Kyle chose to have their ceremony in front of the big iron gate and brick wall leading to the mansion with the backdrop of oak trees. Lindsay walked down the pathway as the strings played and the sun glowed through the Spanish moss. Kyle and Lindsay had a quiet moment together after they lit the unity candle and listened to the music with their new wedding bands on their fingers.
Reception Details
The reception was held at Boone Hall’s Cotton Dock, which sits on the Wando River. There you can find beautiful sunsets painting the skies over the tidal marshes, making it the perfect way to end a couple’s big day! Lindsay and Kyle incorporated several fun elements that made their wedding day personal and unique to them and special for their guests. I loved that they incorporated glow sticks for dancing, a delicious taco bar, fur-lined Crocs to dance in, and a late night treat of Chick-fil-a chocolate chip cookies!
Since they both met at and went to Clemson University, they are huge Clemson fans, as are many of their friends who were in attendance at their wedding! It just so happened that there was a big game on against the South Carolina Gamecocks during their reception. Lindsay and Kyle didn’t want any Clemson fans to miss the game, so they hung up a white sheet and had the game projected during the reception! Thankfully, the Clemson Tigers won, which only added to the excitement and celebratory energy of the night! They also did a CU alumni picture with the flag!
Lindsay and Kyle’s wedding day was an absolute dream and I am incredibly grateful that I could have a small part of their special day! Congratulations to you both!
