Summer Carriage House Wedding at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

Jenna and Kevin’s joyful summer Carriage House wedding at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens was a day to remember. After their amazing Engagement Session, I knew their wedding day was going to be just as memorable and fun! The couple married on one of the hottest summer days this year in Charleston, SC! Even though the heat was intense, it was all worth it! Between the gorgeous sunshine, the serene setting of the venue’s gardens, and the stunning view of the Ashley River, it was a dream wedding day!

Jenna was the most stunning bride. Her strapless wedding gown featured intricate flower details that went perfectly with the garden setting at Magnolia Plantation. Her wedding bouquet by Modern Floral featured elegant hues of white, blush pink, and hints of green. After the couple finished getting ready, Jenna had a first look moment with her father, while Kevin shared a first look with his mom – I love that they both did first looks with their parents!

The couple then shared a first look together under live oaks with their parents and siblings. I love that they chose to include their close family members in this special moment! There were many happy tears shed by everyone. After their first look, we did wedding portraits under the Spanish moss draped oak trees. The Spanish moss creates such a romantic, picture-perfect setting!

Jenna and Kevin’s garden wedding ceremony took place along the Ashley River under ancient live oak trees. A storm could be seen brewing just miles away, but thankfully, it never made its way to us. The newlyweds were beaming as they exited their ceremony as husband and wife. Before heading to their Carriage House reception, we captured more wedding portraits by the iconic white bridge, which was absolutely magical! There were blooming pink flowers decorating the path to the bridge and overhead more Spanish moss hung from the branches. It was like we were in a movie!

Meanwhile, wedding guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside the Carriage House featuring amazing water views. The outdoor patio area was set up with custom made cornhole boards, pictures of Jenna and Kevin’s family, and signature drinks and hors d’oeuvres for guests to enjoy. Their signature drinks included a honey basil bliss, and a refreshing watermelon spritzer – perfect drinks for a hot summer day! Their hors d’oeuvres menu included Southern favorites like mini chicken and waffles.

The reception was held inside the elegant yet rustic Carriage House. White linens decorated the ceiling, drawing your eyes upward to the vaulted ceilings and grand chandelier. For their first dance, Jenna and Kevin choreographed a dance, which included an amazing lift – my jaw dropped when I saw it! It was so much fun to watch them out on the dance floor. Their energy was contagious! It wasn’t long before everyone joined in on the dance floor. Jenna and Kevin’s dreamy wedding day ended with a beautiful sparkler exit. It was the perfect ending to their gorgeous summer wedding. Jenna and Kevin, thank you for allowing me to capture your wedding day memories. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness.
