Surprise Proposal at Magnolia Plantation

There’s nothing more magical than a surprise proposal. While visiting Charleston from out of town, Cal planned the sweetest surprise proposal at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens for his girlfriend, Camryn! From the dreamy setting, the heartfelt moment on the iconic white bridge, and the celebration afterwards, this proposal was one for the books.

Cal knew he wanted his proposal to be unforgettable, and the breathtaking Magnolia Plantation and Gardens was the perfect spot here in Charleston. The white bridge at Magnolia is surrounded by lush greenery, blooming flowers, and beautiful spanish moss hanging from Oak trees overhead. The water below only adds to the romantic setting, making it absolutely perfect for such a special moment.

As they walked the grounds of Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, soaking in the southern charm, Cal led Camryn onto the bridge. Little did she know, this was the moment he had been planning! At the middle of the bridge, he dropped to one knee, and her reaction was priceless—pure joy and surprise. With a big “YES!” from Camryn, the two sealed the moment with an embrace, and just like that, they were officially engaged!

They popped champagne to celebrate the moment, but Cal wasn’t done with the surprises! He had secretly arranged for both of their families to come to Charleston and celebrate with them after the proposal. When Camryn saw them, the emotions overflowed! Hugs, happy tears, and plenty of “let me see the ring!” moments followed. It was such a sweet and thoughtful way to make the day even more special. With everyone gathered around them, they popped some more bubbly and toasted to their future together.

Afterwards, we took advantage of the gorgeous setting to capture engagement photos throughout the gardens. The historic charm, Spanish moss, and golden light made for the dreamiest portraits. Camryn and Cal were absolutely glowing! I am so incredibly happy for them and their next chapter together!
