I had the most wonderful time at Ellen and Justin’s Green Boundary Club wedding in Aiken, South Carolina. It was the perfect blend of Southern charm, timeless elegance, and pure fun! Everything about their day was filled with love and joy and a whole lot of fun, making it a joy to photograph.

Ellen and Justin’s love story began long before their wedding day as they are high school sweethearts! Justin, who was a teacher’s aide for Ellen’s ninth-grade human geography class, asked a mutual friend about her. Soon after, he asked her to prom, and the rest is history. Now, years later, they tied the knot surrounded by their family and friends.

St. John’s Methodist Church Ceremony

The ceremony took place at St. John’s Methodist Church, where hydrangeas lined the aisle in soft shades of blue and white. The blooms perfectly set the tone for the elegant Southern celebration that followed. Watching Ellen walk down the aisle in her stunning gown was a moment filled with emotion.

Afterwards, the newlyweds made their grand exit as husband and wife and we captured more gorgeous portraits of the two of them along with their wedding party. The iconic Aiken trolley transported the wedding party and family around town and to the reception at The Green Boundary Club.

The Green Boundary Club provided the perfect backdrop for their reception. Between the charming historic venue and sprawling grounds it set the stage for a timeless, romantic evening. Blue and white hydrangeas decorated the front doors of the venue and trailed down the length of the main reception table, creating an elegant and cohesive design. Blue and white ginger jars adorned the bar, where guests enjoyed signature drinks.

Ellen’s dress details and pearl earrings inspired their beautiful 5-tiered wedding cake, which was surrounded by blue hydrangeas. This not only tied into the design, but was an eye-catching focal point. Every element of their wedding day was carefully chosen and beautifully executed.

The couple incorporated so many fun, meaningful touches throughout the day! At the reception they had lawn games like custom corn hole and giant Jenga. They also had an ice cream truck that delighted guests of all ages.

Later when the sun went down, the energy turned up! The live music kept the dance floor packed all night long, complete with cowboy hats, fun props, bubbles, and even a surprise appearance from the Clemson Tiger! Since both Ellen and Justin attended Clemson University, it was the perfect nod to their shared alma mater.

The couple and their guests celebrated the night away before making their grand exit in a classic Excalibur getaway car – the perfect way to end their wedding day in style.
