Gray and Kiel’s wedding was a perfect blend of romance, southern charm, and elegance. Held on a beautiful spring day, their celebration featured a ceremony at the historic Summerall Chapel on The Citadel campus and a gorgeous reception at The Cedar Room in Charleston, South Carolina. From the stunning blue and white color palette to the heartfelt moments shared between family and friends, every detail of their wedding day was meticulously planned and beautifully executed.
Ceremony at Summerall Chapel
The wedding ceremony at Summerall Chapel held significance because Kiel, along with many family members from both sides, had attended The Citadel. The chapel with high ceilings and stained glass windows provided a beautiful and meaningful setting for Gray and Kiel to exchange their vows. The bride looked absolutely gorgeous in her strapless wedding gown adorned with a bow at the back and a cathedral-length veil with an elegant lace border. Her bridesmaids complemented her beautifully in dusty blue dresses, each featuring a bow detail on the shoulder, tying the bridal party look together seamlessly. Classic white wedding bouquets added the perfect touch of timeless elegance.
As Gray and Kiel emerged from the chapel, they were greeted with a traditional sword arch. The joyous moment was filled with applause and cheers as the couple walked down the steps as newlyweds.
Romantic Spring Wedding Reception at The Cedar Room
Afterwards, everyone headed to The Cedar Room for the reception. A beautiful sunset on the rooftop provided a breathtaking backdrop for portraits. The Charleston Harbor and Ravenel Bridge in the background set against the sunset added an extra touch of beauty to their newlywed photos. The timeless reception space was equally as beautiful. The open and airy space was decorated with gorgeous flowers, including a stunning floating wreath above the dance floor, which was one of my favorite details.
Another one of the standout features of the reception was the giant bar, which stretched nearly the length of the room, fulfilling one of Gray and Kiel’s special requests. A champagne tower added an extra touch of glamour, and a live band kept the energy high and everyone dancing throughout the night. Gray and Kiel even joined the band on stage a couple of times, singing and playing the tambourine. The entire evening had such a fun atmosphere, as the energy was high, and you could feel the love and happiness throughout the room.
As the night drew to a close, Gray and Kiel’s wedding ended with a grand sparkler exit. Surrounded by the sparkling lights of their loved ones, the newlyweds made their way to a Rickshaw decorated with white flowers and a “Just Married” sign. It was a perfect end to a day filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments.
Gray and Kiel, it was an honor to photograph your special day! I wish you a lifetime of happiness and love.
