Kelle and Kyle’s beautiful Old Wide Awake Plantation Wedding in Charleston, SC fell on the perfect fall day! Old Wide Awake Plantation is a lovely southern wedding venue, featuring a private historic home, big southern porches, old oak trees, and classic Charleston charm.
Old Wide Awake Plantation Wedding
Kelle and Kyle had their sweet and emotional first look on the Plantation’s porch. There was hardly a dry eye as Kyle saw his bride! The first look is always one of my favorite wedding moments to photograph. I love capturing the joy and emotion of this special moment!
The venue has beautiful green ivy covered steps leading up to the historic house on the plantation. It was in front of those ivy covered stairs that the couple said “I do!” After their outdoor ceremony Kelle, Kyle, and I snuck away to capture their newlywed portraits under the Spanish moss covered oak trees along the Stono River. The light shimmered through the Spanish moss, creating the most beautiful and romantic backdrop as Kelle and Kyle soaked in the moment, shared a dance, and strolled through the garden.
After capturing their newlywed portraits, we headed back to the outdoor reception which carried on into the night. Everyone had a great time dancing under the stars and stringed lights celebrating Kelle and Kyle!
Kelle and Kyle’s Love Story
As many couples today, Kelle and Kyle met on a dating app – so modern and 21st century! Kyle proposed to Kelle during a ‘staycation’ at a historic home in Wadamalaw Island along Bohicket Creek. It was there, along the river’s edge where Kyle proposed to Kelle with family nearby! In their free time, they love spending time together and with their dogs! They both enjoy going out and exploring Charleston, as well as staying home and working on one of their many DIY woodworking projects.
Kelle and Kyle, thank you for giving me the privilege of documenting your special day! It has been a joy to get to know you both and celebrate your wedding at Old Wide Awake Plantation!
