The days are getting warmer and longer, and the end of the school year is in sight! Each summer, our family loves to make a bucket list of fun activities we hope to do through out the summer, and bonus – it’s always fun to check them off as we go. Come back next week for some tips on how to photograph your own summer!
1. Trip to local ice cream shop
I think eating ice cream and popsicles has to be one of the most beloved summer time memories. And let’s be honest, we’ll probably be crossing this one off more than once.
2. Water play
There’s nothing like cooling off in the pool, lake, or sprinkler when it’s a hot day. My kids have already been asking to get out their swim suits, so I’m sure this will be another favorite this summer.
3. Picnic at the park
Probably one of our favorite free family activities!
4. Visit to the zoo
Whether it’s lions, tigers, or bears, it’s always fun to explore the zoo and see what the animals are up to. My favorite is feeding the giraffes.
5. Berry Picking
One of my favorite things about where we live is all the farm fresh produce. It’s so much fun filling buckets with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries to take home.
6. Camping in the backyard
Tent, check. S’mores, check. Campfire songs, check.
7. Watching fireworks.
Hopefully we’ll be able to catch some great fireworks this summer!
8. Visit to amusement park.
The kids get bigger and braver each year in trying new rides.
9. Going on a hike.
Pack up the water bottles and trail mix, and we are off!
10. Reading
After all that activity, quiet time is a necessity (especially for me!), and as E just learned how to read this past year, we will be making lots of trips to the library for new books to read.
I’d love to hear what is on YOUR Summer Bucket List this summer!
