When I drove up the long driveway into Magnolia Hill Farm and saw the blue sky, puffy clouds, and white farmhouse on the hilltop, I knew it was going to be a great day for Savanna and Josh’s wedding! I walked inside and immediately felt like I was in a garden or greenhouse with all the flowers and greenery – it was so beautiful and smelled amazing! The large wooden cross, draped with florals, was the perfect backdrop for their open-air ceremony looking over the rolling hills.
I can’t imagine what it’s like to get married during a global pandemic and having to make hard decisions about your wedding day, the guest list, and so much more! Savanna and Josh made the tough call to postpone their wedding a month so that more of their friends and family could attend, and I must say, it was worth the wait! They were surrounded by friends and family members who covered them with so much love and support. The farmhouse was alive with the Hamilton soundtrack playing as Savanna and her bridesmaids got ready. I loved hearing all the singing and dancing as they curled their hair and put their dresses on! Savanna also wore her mother’s pearl necklace – a gift from her husband, Savanna’s father, on their 10th wedding anniversary!
Savanna and Josh thought of everything to make their Wedding Day beautiful and memorable! Tiny little tissue boxes and colorful fans were given to their guests for the ceremony – so helpful on a warm summer day. Savanna’s Aunt did a live painting during the wedding ceremony; it was so fun watching it come together right in front of my eyes. What an incredible piece of art to help them remember their wedding day too! The ice cream truck was also a huge hit! With a variety of flavors from which to choose, it was a fun way to cool down on a summer evening! Finally, Savanna and Josh had a unique entrance to the Reception! Because of the coronavirus, they didn’t get to have their college graduation. So, they surprised everyone by entering the Reception wearing their college caps and gowns! It definitely brought lots of applause, whistles, and “awe’s”!
One of my favorite moments was watching Savanna and Josh share their First Dance. The sun set over the hills behind them, creating such a colorful, romantic backdrop! Savanna’s dress swished so beautifully as they twirled together – their joy is so contagious! Once everyone joined them on the floor, the dance party really got going, and it was so much fun!
Savanna and Josh, I am so thankful that God crossed our paths! I have absolutely loved getting to know you both this past year, and it was such a privilege to celebrate your long-awaited Wedding Day and document it for you! Congratulations and I wish all the very best as you start this new chapter of your lives!
