It was the perfect spring evening for a family session at Cox Arboretum in Dayton! The flowers were blooming and smelled absolutely amazing. The sun gave us that unbeatable magical evening glow as it set through the trees. And most importantly Cassidy, Adam, and Bennett were so much fun! Bennett swung through the air like superman. He climbed over big rocks and collected little rocks to toss into the stream. Cassidy twirled through the lilac blossoms like a pro. And my favorite moment was when Bennett wrapped his arms around Adam, snuggled in close, and they watched the turtles and fish swim across the pond. As a mom, these are the moments I want to bottle up and remember forever. Because they won’t always fit in my arms or be so mesmerized at the little things, like rocks or fish. Pictures of these sweet memories can’t freeze time completely, but they freeze a moment so that we can better remember it later.

I met Cassidy at a recent photography conference, and it was so fun finding out we lived near each other! It’s always a bit nerve racking shooting another photographer and their family, but it’s also such an incredible honor.
