I am so excited to share Drew and Adam’s Lowndes Grove winter wedding day! Their gorgeous wedding took place on a breezy winter day. Despite the wind, it was still a beautiful day with the warm glow of the sun shining down. Drew looked absolutely radiant in her dress! I am sure she felt as if her veil would blow her away during a couple outside moments, but the wind helped us capture some epic wedding portraits with her veil floating behind her!
Lowndes Grove is an elegant, historic venue in downtown Charleston and is said to be the last great waterfront estate! On top of the estate’s stunning architecture and rich history, the venue is also one of the filming locations for the Netflix show, Outer Banks! It was so fun to say we were at “Sarah Cameron’s house”! This beautiful Charleston wedding venue sits on 14 idyllic acres, filled with live oak trees and serene views of the Ashley river and the surrounding marsh. The views are especially breathtaking at sunset!
Lowndes Grove Winter Wedding
We made sure to take advantage of the scenery and grab a few sunset wedding portraits on the docks by the water. The golden and amber hues of sunlight setting over the water painted a beautiful backdrop for Drew and Adam’s wedding portraits! While the outside of Lowndes Grove is filled with natural, scenic beauty and expansive Southern porches, the inside of the estate is equally as impressive! The classic black and white checkered flooring and spiral staircase were two of my favorite elements in the house.
Drew and Adam’s elegant and timeless wedding was highlighted by their color scheme of green, white, and gold. Their outdoor ceremony took place as the sun went down over the river, providing a stunning backdrop. Drew walked down the aisle to live violin and cello music. The stringed instruments created an extra layer of romance to their already incredible ceremony.
After the ceremony, guests drank cocktails and enjoyed southern-inspired hors d’oeuvres, like oyster shots, along the river under the big oak trees decorated with hanging lanterns. The reception area was transformed with twinkle lights and lovely flower arrangements decorating the ceiling. The band kept the music lively and fun the whole night. Everyone had a great time celebrating the newlyweds and their elegant winter wedding at Lowndes Grove. Congratulations, Adam and Drew!
