I don’t think anyone could ask for a more beautiful spot to host a wedding than on the beach. There is something incredibly magical, calming, and romantic about a seaside wedding. Cathrine and Steven’s Ocean Isle Beach Wedding in North Carolina at the lovely Carolina Memories Beach House was no exception!
Ocean Isle Beach Wedding
Their dream wedding started with a stunning beach ceremony. Cathrine walked down the sandy wedding aisle to Steven who teared up at the sight of her coming down the beach to him. It was a beautiful moment and I don’t think there was a dry eye in attendance! Guests witnessed the couple from their seats in the sand facing the ocean waves as they rolled in. There is nothing like getting married with your toes in the sand, the smell of salt in the air, and the breeze coming in with the tide.
Their elegant wedding featured beautiful coastal designs including seashells and turtles. These elements were perfectly accented by their nautical wedding colors of various shades of blue and gold. I loved the hand painted oyster shell wedding favors that Cathrine’s mother and friends devoted time to creating!
Cathrine and Steven’s wedding reception took place in the backyard of the two-story beach house. The balconies provided perfect spots to capture photos of the newlyweds and the party down below! Palm trees surrounded the backyard and pool area, which was decorated with balloons and even some pink floating flamingos that appeared in the pool area later in the evening!!
Cathrine and Steven infused a little bit of their hometown near Louisville, KY into their wedding day with bourbon flavors, decorative bottles, and a bourbon-based speciality drink, Milo’s Old Fashioned, named after one of their cats! Their other signature drink, Junipurr’s Cosmopolitan, recognized their other cat. I loved that they brought a little of their hometown flair and honored their furry family members at their coastal wedding celebration. Everything came together beautifully for a truly unforgettable evening. As the sun was beginning to descend in the sky, I stole the newlyweds away for a few sunset portraits on the beach!
Sunset Wedding Portraits
The sky put on a stunning display of blue and pink hues. Slowing down and capturing Cathrine and Steven alone on the beach with this breathtaking backdrop was one of my favorite moments of the day. After capturing their magnificent sunset wedding portraits we headed back to the wedding celebration where Cathrine and Steven laced up their dancing shoes! They impressed everyone with their amazing dance moves. I loved watching them rock the dance floor as they effortlessly went from elegant ballroom dancing, to hip hop, to playfully dancing off each other’s moves.
