I had the privilege of capturing Emily and Andrew’s waterfront Charleston wedding at Patriots Point Links! From their heartwarming connection and lifelong friendship to the stunning coastal backdrop, their gorgeous wedding was truly unforgettable. However, Emily and Andrew’s love story began long before their wedding day. Their families have been friends for years, as their fathers were friends back in high school. Having grown up together with their families hanging out and even vacationing together, they became close friends. It didn’t take long for these two to realize that they were destined to be more than just friends. I could tell these two were perfect together from the first time I met them a few of years ago when Andrew contacted me to photograph his proposal on Rainbow Row. Needless to say, I was thrilled to photograph their wedding and capture their beginning together as Mr. and Mrs.!
Waterfront Charleston Harbor Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the picturesque Charleston Harbor, surrounded by blue skies, tranquil blue waters, and the gentle breeze of the ocean. As sailboats glided by, Emily and Andrew exchanged their vows, sealing their love amidst a breathtaking coastal backdrop. It was a beautiful moment, and I couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the surroundings. After exchanging vows, I stole the newlyweds away to capture some sunset photographs. As the sun began to set, it painted the sky with vibrant hues of gold and orange.
Patriots Point Links Reception
Their outdoor tented reception featured twinkling lights that hung from the ceiling. The light and airy event space was highlighted by the couple’s dreamy, timeless color palette of predominantly white and light pink with touches of gold, exuding a sense of sophistication and romance. Every detail, from the flowers to the decor, was carefully curated to create an atmosphere of enchantment and beauty.
Emily and Andrew’s reception also featured delightful surprises and delicious treats. A Gelato cart from Gelati Moto was a huge hit among guests, offering a refreshing and indulgent treat on a warm spring evening. The festivities continued at the reception, where guests were treated to signature drinks, a photo booth to capture memories, and a cigar roller for a touch of sophistication. However, the biggest surprise came in the form of Andrew’s brother, who dressed up as Pikachu from Pokemon and gave them a special “Pokemon” card featuring Emily’s picture! It was incredibly sweet and a moment I know they will always remember. As the night drew to a close, Emily and Andrew bid farewell to their loved ones with a sparkler exit.
Emily and Andrew are not only a stunning couple but also two of the kindest individuals you’ll ever meet. Their genuine warmth and love for one another was evident throughout the day. It was an absolute honor to witness and capture the joy radiating from their smiles as they started this new chapter in their life together. Congratulations, Emily and Andrew!
