Spring is an extra magical time in Charleston as the weather warms up and flowers start to bloom! Madeline and Danny’s elegant spring wedding here in Charleston, South Carolina could have been more perfect. It was a dreamy wedding day filled with gorgeous, colorful spring flowers, elegant details, and heartwarming moments and memories.
Madeline and Danny first met through a mutual friend in Columbia. After dating for a while, Danny popped the question at one of their favorite spots to walk their dog on a random, unsuspecting Saturday morning. Now they are celebrating the next chapter in their story as husband and wife!
Elegant Spring Wedding in Charleston
Madeline and her bridesmaids readied at Hotel Emeline, where they would later return for the wedding reception. The bride looked stunning in her strapless, elegant wedding gown with her hair down and curled. Her white flower earrings were the perfect addition to this spring wedding. The bridesmaids wore light green, long dresses, which were accented by their colorful bouquets. However, Madeline’s bridal bouquet was the real showstopper! Flowers in Coral, orange, yellow, and blush hues drew everyone’s attention.
They had a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony at the historic St. Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist. This church was breathtakingly beautiful inside, with unique stained glass windows and high ceilings that featured a painted night sky. The bride and groom exchanged their vows and exited the church wearing the biggest smiles!
We took wedding portraits of the new Mr. & Mrs. around the church before heading to Hotel Emeline for their cocktail hour and ballroom reception. Cocktail hour was supposed to take place outside in the courtyard, but the weather had other plans! It ended up pouring so hard that everything was promptly moved inside the greenhouse and foyer. The quick adjustment didn’t affect the joy and fun of the evening at all.
Hotel Emeline Wedding Reception
As we made our way into the ballroom, I was blown away by the elegance of the space and the gorgeous details. Colorful bouquets took their place at the center of each table. Their wedding cake featured a cascading line of flowers that looked too beautiful to eat.
It was clear that family is extremely important to Madeline and Danny. They wanted to make the most of their time with everyone, and even made sure to include all their nieces and nephews in the wedding party. During dinner, family members delivered the most thoughtful and heartwarming speeches.
After dinner, the dance floor opened up and everyone quickly began to dance and celebrate. Their amazing wedding day ended with a lovely send off from guests tossing lavender as the newlyweds climbed inside a pedicab that whisked them away down the streets of Charleston.
Madeline and Danny, capturing your elegant spring wedding day was such an honor. I enjoyed every moment and am so thankful to have been a part of it. Congratulations!
