Susan and Austin traveled from snowy Wisconsin to say their vows under the beautiful Spanish moss covered live oak trees at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. They chose the perfect spot for their romantic modern elopement in Charleston, SC. I loved that this day was focused entirely on them and their love and commitment to each other. Their day was intimate and intentional, making it an honor to witness their ceremony, celebrate them, and document their day!
Modern Elopement in Charleston, SC
After getting ready at Planters Inn, Susan headed to meet Austin for their elopement ceremony! She carried a stunning wedding bouquet created by Tiger Lily Florist that was filled with beautiful pink and white flowers and a pop of deep purple! As a result of perfect timing, we had lots of time for portraits in the gardens and downtown. It was truly a photographer’s dream! We were able to take our time strolling through the gardens, exploring downtown, and capturing lots of iconic backdrops – the white bridge at Magnolia, Spanish moss covered live oak trees, cobblestone streets, Rainbow Row, and St. Michael’s Church, to name a few!
One of the sweetest parts of the day was when Austin gave Susan an antique suitcase full of letters he had written her over the past year. There was almost one for each day! He found the perfect antique suitcase at a store in Charleston. Susan teared up when he presented it to her right after their ceremony. It was one of the sweetest and most romantic gestures.
Austin and Susan, it was an honor to be a part of this special day! Congratulations!
