Spring is such a beautiful time in Charleston! Nature seems to burst at the seams with beauty and color as everything blossoms and blooms before our eyes. This is one of the many reasons I love spring engagement sessions! The pop of colors provided by mother nature add a touch of romance and magnificence. For Tori and Isaac’s spring engagement at Hampton Park in downtown Charleston we were greeted with the most stunning azaleas in full bloom. They were just gorgeous! However, there was more beauty in store as the peppermint peach trees were also blooming. The petals gracefully fell as they were kissing under the tree creating a lovely scene that felt like it was from a movie! Later, as we strolled down Meeting Street in historic Charleston, the purple wisteria was also blooming. The lilac petals hung over the black iron fence which created the most amazing backdrop!
Spring Engagement at Hampton Park in Downtown Charleston
We completely lucked out as this area is one of the most photographed spots in Charleston, and somehow, we had it all to ourselves. We took advantage of the secluded area and explored the park. Tori and Isaac had a vision for their engagement shoot and we nailed it. They very much wanted their session to be a preview to their wedding day. The florals were an important aspect of that. They envision a timeless, soft, romantic vibe for the ceremony and a fun, casual, cinematic vibe for the reception. We captured both of these elements during their engagement session.
To capture the timeless, soft imagery, we headed to Hampton Park with all the vibrant florals. Tori wore a chic, long white dress – a picture of elegance. Then there was Isaac in his suit jacket and bow tie. They looked amazing and their outfits perfectly captured the vibe they were going for. The pops of spring colors and the Spanish moss hanging from the ancient oak trees were extra bonuses that added beauty and romance to their session. For the second part of their session, Tori wore a fun, floral printed dress with layers that added fun movement to the photos as Issac twirled her around underneath the wisteria flowers. Isaac also wore a dressy, yet casual ensemble that looked amazing together.
Tori and Isaac both attended West Point Military Academy and are in the Army – Thank you both for your service! Their wedding will be at the stunning Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. I can’t wait to capture their wedding day. I know it is going to be amazing and full of so many wonderful moments and memories!
