I recently had the joy of capturing Danielle and Lea’s Folly Beach Engagement at Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve in South Carolina. Their engagement session was so beautiful! I cannot stop looking at all the images! The beach is always a wonderful location for portraits! While a beach setting is already romantic with the waves rolling in the background bringing with it a salty breeze, this session was everything you would want and dream about when it comes to engagement sessions! The weather was perfect! The clear day allowed us to see the beautiful lighthouse on the horizon, and at one point we even saw dolphins jumping in the water out in the distance! Seeing the dolphins leap out of the water was truly an amazing sight!
Folly Beach Engagement
Folly Beach has patches of tall sea grass which is nice to help break up the sandy beach. The driftwood found on the shore made the perfect sitting spot for Lea and Danielle. Towards the end of their romantic beach engagement, the sun put on a beautiful display of colors with orange hues fading into the blue sky. Nature really is the best backdrop!
As I photographed the couple, I learned that Lea and Danielle met through mutual friends. As always, I had to ask about their proposal story! Earlier this spring, they traveled to Atlanta for a Braves vs. Cubs baseball game where Lea proposed on the balcony of the Omni at Truist Park before the first pitch. Close friends also surprised them by joining in the couples’ celebration of their future together. What a sweet and memorable proposal and a fun story to tell!
