Victoria and Shady’s romantic Charleston wedding at William Aiken House was such a beautiful day! Their elegant wedding was a dream from start to finish. There was so much thought and detail put into every aspect of their wedding day, and it all came together beautifully. Romantic hues of blush pink, cream, gold, and a hint of light olive green, came together to create a light, airy, and romantic aesthetic. The bridesmaids wore pink dresses accented by elegant and classic wedding bouquets of light pink and white flowers.
Before the wedding ceremony as the bride and groom got ready, they opened gifts they bought for each other. Victoria gifted Shady Louboutin shoes, and Shady gave her a Chanel handbag. Victoria also wore a cross necklace Shady made for her, as well as her grandmother’s earrings.Victoria looked stunning in her strapless wedding dress. The lace on her veil was made from the same lace as her wedding dress, and that same lace detail also decorated their wedding cake! I love how they wove details into the entire day, like the custom crest seen on the bar, cocktail napkins, pillows, banner, menu and other details at the reception. This crest detail was one of Victoria’s favorite details!
Romantic Charleston Wedding
After getting wedding ready, Victoria and Shady headed to First Baptist Church. The ceremony was very important to both Victoria and Shady. They wanted every moment and detail documented. I love that they had such a focus on the ceremony and capturing the love being exchanged. It was a beautiful moment to witness! They also had a live painting done at the ceremony by Meg Indy, which was then revealed at the reception! It was so much fun to watch the unveiling of the painting and see the joy-filled reactions.
After their beautiful ceremony, we explored downtown Charleston in a vintage Rolls Royce. We made stops at a few iconic downtown spots to capture their wedding portraits, such as the Pineapple Fountain, Chalmers Street, and the American Theater, which displayed their names and congratulated them. I loved that they wanted to incorporate these iconic spots in their wedding photos. It made for some truly stunning and unique wedding portraits.
William Aiken House Wedding Reception
Even though I am sure we could have spent more time driving around downtown in the Rolls Royce, we eventually made our way to the William Aiken House where they hosted their reception. This historic Charleston wedding venue provided a lovely outdoor space in the courtyard where guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Shady’s Egyptian family heritage was honored throughout the wedding reception with special dances, including lifting the bride and groom up on chairs!! Victoria and Shady also included Egyptian treats, such as baklava, ghorayebah butter cookies, and khahk, made by his family for guests to take home as favors. The couple spent the rest of the evening surrounded by loved ones celebrating their magical wedding day.
Victoria and Shady, I love all the sentimental details included in your wedding day, and how you chose to honor your families in those details as well. Your love is inspiring and I am so grateful to have captured your wedding day memories. Cheers to a lifetime of love and happiness!
