Downtown Charleston, SC is such a wonderful place to explore! There are so many great spots for photos! I had the best time capturing Jenessa and Kevin’s historic Downtown Charleston SC engagement session. We made sure to hit all the best spots around downtown, starting along the historic cobblestone streets! I love the different buildings and variety the downtown area provides for photos!
Historic Downtown Charleston SC Engagement
On the day of their session, we were blessed with the most amazing weather! We also timed it just right, because the jasmine was blooming downtown. It smelled so amazing and romantic! We ended their amazing engagement session at Hampton Park where I captured these two at sunset, and what a great sunset it was! They popped a bottle of champagne and shared a toast as the sun set and the Spanish moss glowed around them. It was magical!
At the time of Jenessa and Kevin’s engagement session, they were Florida residents looking to move to Charleston! They have since made Charleston their home and are enjoying settling into their new town and enjoying everything this amazing area has to offer, delicious food, beach life, and the ongoing fun, outdoor events!
Their Story
Jenessa and Kevin met in college at the Air Traffic Controller’s Organization on campus. After they began dating, they quickly realized that they were meant to be together! I loved hearing all about their proposal! They went on vacation right here in Charleston one December. Kevin planned out an amazing day of exploring the downtown area. The pair got all dressed up to look at Christmas lights downtown and then went to the Belmond Place Christmas tree. There, Kevin had the concierge take pictures of them in front of the tree, when he suddenly got down on one knee and pulled out the most gorgeous diamond ring. How incredibly sweet is that?!
Both Jenessa and Kevin enjoy running, exploring new places, and making homemade pizza! When I asked the couple what their favorite thing was about each other, they had the sweetest answers! Jenessa loves that Kevin appreciates her sense of humor and is very patient and kind. Kevin loves that Jenessa can always make him laugh, even if other people don’t think she’s funny.
I have loved getting to know this amazing couple! You can tell they are best friends and thoroughly love each other and enjoy being together. They were so fun to be around and if their engagement session is any indication of their wedding day, I know it will be nothing short of amazing! They couple will be tying the knot this summer at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens! I am looking forward to seeing them again and photographing their special day!
